I also said I was going to throw in something extra for the 100th comment. That comment was made by butrfly2200. I will contact you too for mailing details. You will get a card pouch also. Now this one is not perfect on the inside because I put the magnetic snap in the wrong place the first time. But the embroidery is still very pretty all the same. These pouches are also smaller than what I make now. They were the prototypes, shall we say. You can get several cards in them, just not as many as in a 'bought one'.

I am a very happy camper today as I had 3 sales overnight. That means I can go and get my car registration. Yay! Its not as dire as it sounds, it was just a big bills month with Robs golf fees needing paying too...which I forgot to get money off the term deposit for. As Oprah said today on her show about mums - " You need a wife!" She is so right!

and a bag front. If you are wondering , the beading stitch I used is called 'oglala'. I googled until I found instructions that made sense to me. This  puppy has so much beading thread I think it will survive world annihilation, but I also figure that it won't sustain quite so much 'abuse' as a pouch that lives in your pocket. I did most of this beading at a meeting the other day. Was fantastic to get stuff done.

So apparently mum sold one pincushion at the show - that's one more than I was expecting! The Trade table is really just a place for selling nic-nacky things, and odds and sods. Unloved fat quaters, preloved magazines etc. My nana did sell her quilt however, so I am so pleased for her.

I got lots of positve comments, and I am hoping people will remember them when they want a gift for a sewing person. I will check exchange rates, postage rates etc, and the others will be listed on ETSY soon...

Well, my goodness, it's cutting it fine for the Feb Giveaway. I kinda forgot that there isn't that many days in Feb. Anyhoo, here it is, and I will make you work for it this time though ( I will think of a question while I type)

This is the little book I put together - SEAMS like fun...
It is purely eyecandy. The  format would only allow 27 characters a page (which meant I couldn't even call it what I wanted!), so I wasn't able to add explanations to how the stitches were created, but I do plan to do that in the future!  This is a collection of 24 of my stitched postcards. The pages are high quality, glossy photos, with plastic front and back cover.  Spiral bound which is a bonus, very easy to use! They are 6 x 4 inches in size, perfect to pop in your project bag.
(I have created actual 'books' with this site before, and they were printed and bound etc. I was a bit taken aback to see that these are literally the photos-rather than printed paper pages- but they are on a patterned background, and actually very nice and good quality so I am still happy with them)

I have added these to my ETSY shop, but if any Kiwis or Aussies want one , email me and I'll put one up on FELT (so NZ$$ rather than US).
I can re-order these at any time, so if you miss out let me know and I will get some more, I just wasn't sure if anyone would actually buy one!!

I did the numbers a little differently this time. I kept pushing until the a number appeared for a second time. Not only did number one come up twice first, it was the first number out of the box anyway...so Ati, it was always meant to be yours!!

I have started working on a wallhanging, while I decide what I actually want to do for my quilt.

Bloggerversaries and giveaways

A couple of things. Laurence of France is having a giveaway on her blog for her 1st anniversay, which made me think to check when I started blogging. Well, my first post is here, and seeing as it is this month, I will be adding a few extras to the giveaway winner this month too. The postcard will still come thru the post, but I will also put together a baggie of a few of my favourite things for embellishing with. (remember comment on the previous post to be in the draw)

I really enjoy blogging. I enjoy the interaction with other stitchers. I don't find it a chore at all, although I don't blog as frequently as I used to. I still find it particularly motivating for starting, progressing, and completing project. I LOVE comments (don't we all). Blogging has allowed me to connect with a whole community of like minded people all over the world. I think I could land in almost any country, and have someone to visit that I have met through blogging or online groups. I try to keep things here pretty much "on topic", but this is also my little piece of the universe. No-one gets a say on what I do here. I enjoy ahsring pictures of my work, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge. Teaching is one of my stronger points, and I hope for this blog to lead onto bigger and better things i the "real world" for me one day.

Anywhoo, Happy Bloggerversary to me , for SUNDAY (I have to do ti now cos I will forget!!)

Chrissy cards and November giveaway

These are nice simple designs, but very nice substitue for a hallmark crissy card.

500th post - October giveaway.

Yeah. A big milestone. 500 posts!
I was going to plan something big, however I am feeling a bit melancholy today. A bit of PTQD, a bit of the  that "from the past" business, not sure why now. It wasn't a good relationship, so not pining for that, but it does remind me of the days when I could pick up and leave when I wanted to. No obligations except rent, no children, no mortgage...blah blah. A free spirit, which I definitely was. It is also the middle of the holidays and I think we have all had enough of each other.
I desperately want to hop in the car and go to Belinda's, a 6 hour drive, and the kids want to go to the bach, a 1 hour drive.... 

Anyway, the question for today, would it be a complete cop out to do another black quilt? The design would be different, more contemporary. I have all these wonderful sassa lynne threads, and I want a background that will do them justice. I had thought denim, but that may be very difficult to work. The other thought was Cream.

Please give me you opinions on the colour (and denim if you have experience with it), and leave a comment to go in  the October draw for this postcard.

 I baked a caramel slice, so I am sure I will feel better tomorrow    :)
