Paisley...again, bad smells...and bastards!

I finished up this motif last night. Margaret R refers to this as tatting in a comment. Margaret. I never did quite 'get' the tatting thing, but have found ways of making it look almost like tatting. This motif, however uses a bullion stitch, with between 20-30 wraps for the scalloped edging.

Now, there is a REALLY BAD SMELL in my house somewhere. in the kitchen/ living area. I have moved everything that can be moved - oven, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine. Checked all the drawers, cupboards and lunchboxes. HELP, where is the worst place you have found really bad stuff!!! Its is getting so overpowering that I can't stay in the kitchen long. I am feeling nauseous sitting here.

And for my second drama of the day. I watched a car being stolen today!! I didn't know it was being stolen at the time, but I am completely shocked by the brazeness (is that a word) of this man ( read as complete bastard). We were walking back to the car after soccer photos today, and I noticed the coaches 6yr old daughter at her mums car. This guy was almost up to her, and I heard him say, "I'll help you with that". She was trying to get the keys out of the door. He got into the car closed the door and screamed out of the car park. The moment I realised that this wasn't quite right was when he didn't wait for her to move out of the way. I absolutely beleive he would of run her over if she was in the way. The thing that gets me is that he looked me right in the eye before getting in the car. This was obviously a pre meditated ,not to jack Pam's car, but a car, and they just got lucky with a little girl and car keys. As soon as this car was out of the carpark, another one left after it.
I'll be off to the police station tomorrow to do a statement. I got a really good look at this guy, and I hope the next time I see him is in court.

Thank goodness the little girl *wasn't* in the way!

Did you check down your drain? Sometimes they can smell awful! Or do you have a garbage disposal? Ditto.

Great paisley. I'm not entirely happy with mine. They look a little empty, but I can't think what would make them fuller. Would you take a look? They just don't seem finished.

Jo,

Maybe you have a rat in the space between the ceiling and the roof of your home? Or under the floorboards. (Ask me how I know) You might want to call an exterminator? I hopt it doesn't get worse.

Jo, your paisleys are just gorgeous! I don't know where you find the time to get it all done.

That's a gorgeous paisley, and some bullion edging! When I get a smell in my kitchen, it means the drain needs rodding.

Lovely paisley!

I agree with Lillian - could very well be a dead rodent in the wall...

Hi Jo,
We had the same horrific smell problem when we lived near a river and had a rat infestation. I agree with Lillian and Conni--it is probably some large rodent or animal in the wall. Very unfortunate! If you cannot find the source and remove it, that smell is going to last for a month or more, during which time it will slowly decrease. The cat may have cornered the rodent so that it was trapped; I have two cats now and no more problems!! I would ask your cat about the matter. Meanwhile, keep up your lovely work.

Hope you don't mind my input on your bad smell, I'm new to CQ (found you through Allison Aller and Sharonb's blogs)...anyway, I had much the same problem one time. I tried everything to find the offending smell. Here's what it ended up being...Have you checked the drip pan under your fridge? Mine had to be accessed from the back of the fridge, which is why I didn't realize I even had one! Boy did it stink!! Hope this helps some.

Jo.
Love the paisly.
I just had to tell you about a "smell" we had in our kitchen..
we hunted all over the place to track down this smell...you would not believe what it was..all it was is a plastic shopping bag that had the meat pagages when we went shopping, some blood from the meat must have leaked out..I keep the bags to recycle for our rubbish..there is was in my bag holder for days before we found what it was...

I'll be tagging behind the blogging community that is embroidering paisleys right now! I do have a few supplies left unpacked... maybe just maybe I could try one...
Our move day will be Sept 28th.

I absolutly love everything about this paisley, the beadwork is fab, and the "almost like tatting" is very wonderful!

Hi Jo. I have given up on the real tatting thing too and do it your way! I love the paisley and the new bag.
We had our car stolen years ago and never saw it again. I don't think they look on it as a crime because they think the insurance pays up and that's it.
My DinL's mother saw someone stealing their car during the night and she had a heart attack and died there and then. It was terrible. I do hope you manage to get this one to pay for his crime. The ones that stole our cars were never found.
