Close-ups on leaves

Photos for Katie.
I do these leaves with a button hole stitch, using a crochet cotton #8. I really like using this, but I was reading over at Chloe's Place , and I was interested in Lindas comments about needing to use a finer perle cotton for some stitches. This would be true for this piece too, especially where I have added lazy daisy to a seam. A finer thread would give a better result. However, I am sticking to what I have got for this, I want to limit the palette , threads and stitches used.

Love the close up of the leaves. I was wondering too how you did them, now I know...lol. Very nice and I love the colours you have chosen. Stylish!!!

Jo, thanks for the close-up. Perle #8..I would have not guessed that size thread...they look great and the shape is very graceful. Using the butonhole stitch to fill a smallish space results in just the kind of thing i like...with one stroke(??) of the needle you get definition, texture and contrast.Definitely going to have to try this.
