UUmmmm...nice job

What can you say?? Brooke was born bald! It took 2 years to grow any hair at all, and 2 more years to get it to this length. Maybe it will grow back before she starts school.
She wasn't to fussed about it, until I showed her the photo. We got half way to school - to pick up Ben - and the water works started "my hair won't grow back" . She kept her hand glued to the back of her head for about an hour.
Brooke's best friend is a serial self stylist, but this is the first time she's tried it. Her friend has styled her hair before, in the middle of Brooke's 3rd birthday party, before cake and photos, but she did quite a good job! After that, we made a rule about only mummies cut hair. After she had done it, but before I knew, she came out to the lounge and said " only mummies cut hair eh? That's the rule". That rule was made almost a year ago, and she still remembered it.
I am thankful that she did the back rather than the usual 'mullet' type do that the pre-school set seem to be so fond of.

Looks like it will definantly be ponytail time for the next few months. Oh well it isn't as bad as some of the diy haircuts i have seen.

I love the steps and it reminds me of my first teaching job. A 5 year old had two very long ringlets tied with a bow each side of her head. I happened to look up and she had the scissors in one hand and a very long curl in the other!

Oh the horrors!
Looks like it's fun hat & ponytail season at your house...

Look at it this way - she obviously already has an addiction to scissors - just add fabric and you will have a very precocious patchworker.

I am told wool and plastic canvas, however, and a large, blunt tapestry needle is a better way to start them, but you never know....

I'm so glad it wasn't only my kids that were born bald and took that long to grow hair...lol. Not sure who to feel sorriest for - you or Brooke. What are you going to do, cut it all shorter or just haul it up into a pony tail?

Hugs to both of you.

Yes, what can you say!
I think nearly every kid tries this, mine did! It's part of being a kid..
It will grow back, good job her friend didn't take to her hair with clippers.
You and Brooke will look back on this one day and have a good laugh!
