My Poppa

My Poppa passed away early this morning. I will remember him as a strong, active, vibrant man. He was a great fisherman, a tramper, a hard worker, and a good grandfather. He called everyone 'curly'. He was in his 60's when I met him, so I feel very blessed to of had so much time with him ( 25 yrs). I am also pleased that my children got to know him.
Well, I guess we have to worry about nanna now. She will say she is coping - if she even acknowledges his passing! ( if you don't talk about it then it never happened), and she will probably appear to be coping, but I guess time will tell. It is probably a good thing that it is the holidays and we will all be close by for 4-5 weeks.

Thankyou to those of you who have left your kind words. I appreciate it.

We all wondered how grandma would ever cope without my grampy - they were inseperable. But she's made of that strong silent stuff women who raised families during the war while theor menfolk were overseas are made of, and she quietly got on with building a life around her family, friends and church and has continued to be an inspiration to us all. 12 years later she's still going strong aged 88. It's okay to be sad, it's okay to remeber and it's okay to carry on too - he'd want you all to have a good christmas I am sure. Big hugs Jo.

Dear Jo
My thoughts are with you at this sad time.
But you have wonderful and precious memories of your Poppa and while you keep those memories alive by sharing them with your loved ones,he will never die.
