Seems I've been busy

I am embarking on a RR with a group of friends, theme being, well, I'll let you guess!

Yes, I know its not square, damn it! Hasty cutting, but I am sure I can fix it...somehow...
And today I whipped up something I have been wanting to try for a while. I had a block pieced that would of been a CD pin keeper (but didn't quite make it) and I have been very inspried by Gerrys Victorian Pincushions . This is what I came up with.
I love it!! I had an old pewter goblet in the garage which I knew would be perfect. It was originally planned (I planned Shari!!LOL) to go up the other/right way. I am not sure why I tried it upside down, but it looked way better.
I did have a whole set of these, but I fear they are long gone, so I will have to find some more. They would make wonderful gifts. Although the block was already pieced, embellisheing and constructing didn't take me any more than 1 1/2 hrs.
Here's a different view...

Now that block looks like a tree to me!!!

As for the pincushion that is just awesome and yes you'll have to see if you can find more of them goblets or something like them - very unique!

Ya know, mathematically speaking that is a "square", technically! It has four right angles so there ya go! Even rectangles are considered squares, LOL!

That pincushion you made is fabulous! You know I LOVE the tatting! That goblet is super fab!

Great idea. Love your ideas. Now I will have another reason to check out thrift stores looking for an unique base for a pincushion like yours. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Jo!
This is a project I saw on CQMag online and I've been wanting to make a new pin cushion for myself, but I am swamped and have had to put it on the back burner.
I love yours! It's great. Using the bottom of the goblet is such a good idea as it would provide a good sturdy base.
Nice work,
Dakotah
