Black CQ #17 & #18

I have "man-flu"! It kicked in about 9.15, just after I dropped the kids at school, and Jono at daycare, and I think it will dissipate back into "super-mum sniffles" at around about 2.30. I have heard though that "man-flu" can knock you around for a while, and I think mine will rear it's ugly head again about the time DH gets home....
I have watched terrible day time TV (the soaps are next) and haven't the energy to pick up a needle. I did however think I should post the other 2 completed Black CQ blocks for you.
Block #17, and below, the detail shot. The flower may get some leaves yet. We'll see.
And block #18.
I received a wonderful gift from Hideko at chistmas, the Christina Dabbs CQ book. This little motif is in there. The eggs were stitched with thread sent by Freda. I mention this as the whole quilt has been an exercise in internet friendships. When I first embarked on this quilt, I put the call out for black fabrics, and I received many, many baggies from all over the world.
This little number was going to be a type of bouquet, but insisted on being a tree. It is stitched with Sassa Lynne threads, as is much of the quilt. I don't play with the colours of the photos, it really is that vibrant.
Well, I am done in now. Back to the couch and the man-flu, until the clock dictates I must get over it!

Your black blocks are beautiful. Do you work with templates? Every seam is so even and neat. I love your soaring sunflower in the corner and the row of little stick men. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Love your blocks Jo and like you I have the flu--have had it for 10 days now-I start to feel better then I go down again.
Someone told me they had it for 3 week--yikes I can't afford to lose that amount of time away from stitching.

Jo, love your black blocks, and ALL your work! I am in awe of the even stitches. What do you use to mark your seams with and then how do you remove it?? Gorgeous work!! Debbie (Maine) campmoxie@yahoo.com.au

I love all your recent black blocks. Your stitching on each one is so lovely and they differ from one to another so greatly! I really love that red seam with the white flowers, too. I expect I'll steal that one. =)

Your tree is just fabulous!
