Black CQ - #15 & #16
I said the Black CQ mojo was back!!Blocks #15 and #16 are done...so are blocks 17 and 18, but I have left it too late to take decent pics
Here is block #15 above, with a detail shot below. You can still see all my marker lines. I also see, looking at the pic, that this block needs some more french knots. I love the blue 'daisies'. The have turned out very effective.
And block #16. Those orange flowers are a bit strong, but in the overall big picture, they are fine. Below is a closeup of my cast-on stitch grapes (or wisteria?? I can't remember which)
Finally, a pic below of what I meant by the corners. I will have black diamonds where all the corners meet. Not every corner is blank. Maybe I should of planned it that they were...
Mum has suggested a genuine, vintage, unique , black button where the 4 blocks meet. However I want to keep this stitching only.
If you want to see all the completed blocks together, you can click here to go to my flickr set. I love looking at this set. You can almost see the quilt....
Today was a gorgeous day. Finally some heat in the sun, and , bizarrely, rolling thunder at the same time, but so far no rain. It would be the first day in about 6-7 weeks that it hasn't rained. Hallelujah, spring is coming!

You never cease to amaze me. Stunning work, m'dear!
Unos bloques preciosos !!!!
this is beautiful - and now I know how you get such beautiful even seam treatments (i was pondering this as I worked a wonky herringbone seam last night).
These blocks are amazingly intricate.
oooh...these are absolutely gorgeous! I love black and have often contemplated making a quilt using it. You might have given me more incentive!
