Fimo faces
I really like the life and dimension that the sculpy faces bring to the spirit dolls, so I just had to try. A couple of TradeMe purchases, and we have metallic green sculpy faces. I didn't find the 'easy to use' mould s terribly easy to use!!. They said to dust them with powder for easier removal, but the powder has kind of baked on. Any suggestions? I also popped in some seed beads for eyes, and some holes to attach them to work.
So here is another 'Comfort Doll" with a face added. I will do some beading around it too.
Here are the four that I made last night.

I've got a whole batch of faces in different colours I could send you if you like? I've got more than I'm going to use in the next year so I can always make some more if I need some.
I tend to dust talc powder on with a paintbrush and then use the same brush to dust any big bits off before baking them.
Wow Jo, they're sensational! I love the colour and their expressions and the seed beads look great too.
Hi, When I use those types of moulds I use Hearty's Air Dry Clay. I put it in the mould then let it dry there over night then pop it out. It comes in various colours or you can paint it. It has the added advantage of being extremely light so if you are sewing it to fabric it doesn't weigh it down. Plus, no baking.
They're so cute!! Like the verdigris color. I have received something similar, but am not sure how to attach them -- glue?
I really like the green. The expressions are great. I too would like to know how you attach them.
I love your faces and how you show us how your doll evolves. It is helpful to those of us who are newbies. Great idea about the holes. I know beader's glue their cabochons onto suede also. It has never been a problem for me so far. I do like the holes to sew on idea though.

After starting with Scuply I found that using an air drying clay, made life easier!
Also,if you pop the mold into the 'frig or freezer for a very SHORT time, they will pop out easily.........I've never used powder or flour in my molds.
And yes........at least four holes for anchoring face with.MaureenC
Your doll reminds me of the dotty dolls. You have transformed cloth to life, very good indeed.
