Bear Block completed

Here is the completed block. I am happy with it, it has turned out the way I envisioned it would, so "that's gotta be good for you". The buttons were a bit of a problem. They are quite bulky and I wanted them to 'sit up', which looks really good when the block is flat on the table, but not so good when it is vertical, the way it would hang. I'm not going to do any more, I think it would spoil it.

Now, I'm off to start my blocks for a swap at CQNewbies. Wonder what fabric I'll use?

I think that is one of the nicest blocks I have ever seen. It's a story without words.

This is so much fun and so beautifully stitched. Jo, this just shows that you don't need expensive materials and antique buttons to create something wonderful.

Nothing like following up my own comment! Jo, you said the bears didn't sit right when the block was straight up -- how about putting little bow ties with ribbon or yarn around their necks then you could catch the yarn with a few stitches in the back and that would help hold their heads up.
