It really has been such a long, long time since I blogged. It's not that I have had nothing to blog, I was just hesitant to change the direction of my blog (because my interests have changed). I didnt want to alienate all my long term  readers...so I just abandoned you :( Sorry.
Not saying I am back for good. I did (do) love blogging, and still have a healthy blog list I wade through on a daily basis, including CQ blogs....but the CQ mojo has not returned, and the blogging mojo is obviously with it!

I have been developing and nurturing my more traditionally 'artistic' side, and here are few pics of where I am at ... if you click on my  Zentangles and Doodles page, you can see my earlier work. For those of you that know my aversion to colour (colour blindness) and how I struggled with that in CQ, you will note the perfectly monotone palette in my pieces. Perfectly perfect!

I am enjoying embracing my more macabre side. The anatomy pics are all drawn around pages from a Grays Anatomy text book. I post everything on Flickr,  and I have a Facebook page for this drawn art- Pen in Hand
I would love to see you there if you are on FB

So good to hear from you again! Your pen work looks wonderful and I can certainly see how it has captured your creative spirit. A similiar thing happened to me about thirty years ago...I was happily walking the path of cross-stitch...and then went with a friend to a quilt class! It grabbed me!..and would not let go. So, the cross-stitch was all but abandoned since I had only enough time for one MAJOR hobby! I go back every now and then and enjoy it when I do...sending hugs!

I like to see the other artwork too. Please keep posting even if it's not all crazy quilting.

It's good to hear from you, Jo. I've been following you on facebook and actually, just last week I went to flickr and looked at a bunch of your work there. It's really beautiful! Do keep posting, it's perfectly OK to move in a new direction and really, your zentangles look like blackwork so they fit in just fine. ;0)

Your zentangles have a crazy element to them, with the breaking apart of the bigger shapes.
And over the years I have found that our creativity does have cycles.Your "mojo" is seeking new pastures at the mo.:)
I love this new work of yours, so please keep posting about them.
Regards Phillipa

Hi Jo... Last week I was volunteering at our local public library book sale, and I saw a copy of Gray's Anatomy for $2 and I almost got it to make an altered book.

I love your new work, your drawings are fantastic!

There is a huge second hand book sale here this week...I am off! Got other ideas about other books that might work well too. Should of grabbed it Geneieve, I would like to see what others do

I have another volunteer stint tomorrow, and I'm helping to sort newly donated books, so I get first dibs! I always come home with a bunch of new finds, including some that will be great as collage resources.

Hi Jo

It is so good to hear from you and that all is well. I have thought of you often and your undersea postcard is displayed on a stand in my kitchen so you can't get away from me.

Your artwork is so beautiful and I can see how it can engage you like it has. I have never tried it - still sticking to cq but tiring of it slightly so am getting more interested in collages, journals, etc.

Unfortunately I am not on facebook so you will have to come back here once in a while to visit me.

Hugs

Glad to see you back - sorry I'm so tardy in commenting, but we've been in the midst of moving and my internet wasn't hooked up. Zentangles are fascinating so I don't mind a bit seeing posts about them!

That's very interesting art, and I'm curious as to why it's done over printed pages, whether there's a specific reason, or it's what was handy, or ????

Hi Susan :) I cant remember exactly why I choose the printed pages, but I do lean toward the slightly bizarre...and what better than an anatomy book! The verse book was just another one I had. (I went and bought a whole heap when I was enthused by Ati's paper postcard technique)

Hope you are keeping well.

Hi Jo! I too am struggling with a lack of stitching/textile interest. Well, I'm still interested in it, I just don't really want to do it that much!! It's a shame, but I figure that it'll come back at some time when I'm least expecting it and I've even been selling some of my stash! So, we may be a long way apart, but we're in a similar boat.=)

GOSH I love the first one the bestest but the rest are striking too. So you just find a book you like and doodle on it or are these pages enlarged and then doodled on? AWESOME!!!

I just pick a page I like RoseAnne :)
Thanks for stopping by

I'm fairly new to Zentangling Jo and I am just blown away by these fantastic images. What an amazingly creative idea to do them on pages from Gray's Anatomy. Truly inspirational! Off to find you on FB now.
