Been stitchin'..honest
I have been stitching, just not blogging. I have been feeling...ho hum. Not depressed, which is great, just not particularly motivated, which is probably more depression, than the "I can't handle this, leave me alone while I cry "usual" depression. I would quite happily lay in bed all day and stare at the ceiling, and I do mean happily!
So anyway, onto more interesting things. Below is one of my commitments completed, Suzie W's swap block. She wanted pinks and green and a "romantic" feel. The pic doesn't show it, but it is a lovely sparkly block with lots of beads and sequins.
And this is a bag I have been working on for myself. It is a knot bag, but a big one. It will hold an A4 folder comfortably, and will be an over the shoulder jobby, rather than a wristlet. All the tatting is from the auction that I bought a while ago. I wrestled with myself cutting some of this up, but I figured I will get to enjoy it regularly this way, as will others. This bag is also a wee experiment for my next quilt. One of my (many) plans is to incorporate the tatting into a quilt. I love green, and that tatting sits nicely against it. I am thinking about a "blue and green, should never be seen" concept. Green piecing and blue embellishment/stitching. A whole quilt may be a bit of an undertaking, but I see a wall hanging...although the tatted doilies are mostly so big that it may not actually be that bad. I also wanted to attempt a whole cloth centre. A lot to think about.
Well, I am avoiding writing my report for a meeting tonight (2 hrs away in fact) and apparently I am supposed to feed the whanau as well....

WOW! That knot bag is going to be SOME bag! I can see why it would be hard to cut up the tatting for it, but it was not a loss at all! It's just beautiful! Love what you've done with the tatting on both pieces (the bag and the block)!
Jo the block for Sue is lovely! I like the type of bag you'r making. Beautiful colors too.
I'm sorry you're feeling kinda...meh.. I know how that feels.
Beautiful use of tatting on Suzie's block. Do you tat?
The bag is awesome...
ennui was the word I was thinking of!

You sound a bit burned out. Do take care!=)
Your blog was the first i've visited in about a week or so... i love to look at the things you stitch, they are so breath taking and I would just go crazy to be SO talented... with such vision! I found it interesting that you've been 'down' a bit too! I have had almost no vision... i keep picking up the needle yet i cannot stitch... i am totally blank and it's not helping with the feeling of maybe i'm depressed? I've been on the couch watching CSI: Miami and Law & Order: Criminal Intent non-stop, great huh? Anywho, not that I find comfort in a fellow sister being down, perhaps it's seasonal? I just wish i could get some kind of vision, i have a swap deadline to meet, has to be in the mail by Wednesday! oh brother! Love what you've going going here, it's quite beautiful!
Cheers and better days to you Jo!
