Weekends work & August GIVEAWAY

"Nat Ed" was good....no cooking, no cleaning, catching up with old acquaintances, making some new ones....and lots of stitching done.
Can you guess my new favourite stitch?? It's that stacked cretan. I haven't gravitated toward cretan in the past. It is a stitch I have found difficult to master. Not the doing of it, but the spacing and uniformity of it...but now I love it!
Here are the current creations.

Blue

Jade

Olive

Raspberry

The August GIVEAWAY!! (before August is over...I can't even believe August has started let alone being half way over!) Anywho, leave a comment on this post, and say which colour you would like if you win. I will draw when I remember!!
These still need backing, so it will look a little tidier when it gets to your door.
Happy commenting.

ps Dana...great to see you back !

Wow - they are all very interesting to look at. I've not done Cretan stitch before, let along stacked Cretan. May be I should have a go after seeing these. If I am lucky enough to win the draw then please may I have the OLIVE one - the black stitching on the olive colours made that postcard really stand out.

Jo I really like the look of the stacked Cretan stitch. I'll have to play around with it. I like them all! But if I had to choose one I guess it would be the blue one, no wait maybe the olive one. LOL too hard to choose just one!

Oh, the Aqua/Teal one - when first I began crazyquilting my friend Suzette and I called ourselves "The Teal Sisters" because we always gravitated to that color. And you should SEE my closet! Pick me! Pick me! LOL

I love cretan stitch, but can't say that I've done a stacked version. These are all beautiful, but, should I be lucky enough to win, I would have to pick the blue - simply because it's my favourite colour!

Jade is my favorite. I love the cretan stitch but have problems with the height and spacing too.

What beautiful work. I've done the cretan stitch but not the stacked version. I like the way the wrapped stitches look too. I would choose the raspberry as my favourite piece.

Thank you for the giveaway, Jo. I would love either the blue and pink ones. Your blog inspired me to buy a book on creative crewel embroidery by Judy Jeroy.

Your work is simply beautiful! I also had some problems with the cretan stitch but it is now my favorite. I have to try some of your combinations. If I had to pick it would be the black and white.

They are all beautiful and I love the vibrant colours, but in terms of design I love the olive one. It's a great pattern, and I wish I could produce such lovely things!

Wow - they're all great. But the blues win my vote.

And I'm always looking for new ways to use embroidery, so I may have to borrow some of these ideas!
