Tradewinds DYB progress - Cheryl

This is the next block I have choosen for the CQI, DYB RR (enough letters for you?) Cheryl had asked for certain things from each country, from New Zealand , she wanted paua shell, sheep, mountains and flowers. Well, we have the paua, and I do have a native flower in mind to do.
I tried several colours to shisha the paua. The black looks a little harsh, but it was the only colour that looked any good, and it will be balanced thoughout the block, so don't panic! It looks better in reality of course. The paua is a stunnung shell, and can have a huge range of colours that it picks up, the bottom pic shows this well.
I'm off to research flowers.....

...just being immature to say:
I wanna " shisha the paua!!!"

I have NO idea what it means, but it makes me giggle and imagine really silly things. :)

lol Stacey, you are funny (and maybe a little naughty!)

FYI- paua is the shell disc, and shisha is the way it is held down by stitches. Not exciting at all...but huuby doesn't know that.......

Jo, this is simply gorgeous hon! I have always loved your work and you just keep outdoing yourself each time. I wonder where this journey will take you next?

I love the black around it. I can't imagine anything that would have been better.
