I've added this pic for my joggles classmates who may swing by here. I did this heart a while ago, but I think it incorporates 'points' and 'lines' quite well.

Another really beautiful one, incorporating the paisleys. I'm not taking that class, but I'm seeing a lot of information on blogs, and I'd say you are right about the points and lines.
